Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
This adapter is sized for the 40.5mm filter thread common on Nikon 1 series lenses. Other Nikon DSLR or mirrorless lenses often use different filter thread sizes, so clinics with a different Nikon camera should check their lens's own filter size (indicated by the ⌀ symbol) before ordering, and consider the separately listed 37mm SLR version or a stepping ring if sizes don't match.
No as with the equivalent 37mm SLR version, the page states the DermLite 4 does not need this extra attachment. It's intended for the DermLite II and DermLite III models.
The two adapters are functionally identical in how they connect a DermLite II or III to a camera, differing only in the filter thread size 40.5mm here versus 37mm on the standard SLR version. Choosing the right one depends entirely on matching your specific lens's filter thread size, not on camera brand alone.
Check your lens for its filter size, indicated by the ⌀ symbol; if it doesn't match 40.5mm, you may need one or more stepping rings to bridge the difference. MoleMax Systems sells a separate stepping ring set covering a range of sizes for this purpose.
It's designed for the DermLite II and DermLite III models. Clinics with a DermLite 4 or DL5 should check the relevant device-specific connection options instead.
